Liverpool are interested in signing Adam Wharton from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun. The report in the British tabloid has revealed that the newly-crowned English champions are ready to offer £50 million-plus for the England international midfielder.
Wharton has been on the books of Palace since February 2024 when he joined from Blackburn Rovers. The 21-year-old immediately established himself as one of the best and important players for the Eagles and became a regular starter in the London club’s first team.
There were injury issues for Wharton in the first half of the current season, but following his recovery, the midfielder has returned to his old form and is back among the top young players in the Premier League. Wharton, who has played once for England, has given two assists in 15 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League this campaign. Palace have reached the final of the FA Cup this season, where they will take on Premier League champions Manchester City.
