Phinsider Question Of The Day: Has The Narrative Shifted Edition

There has been a narrative surrounding the Miami Dolphins over the last few years. It’s one of those narratives that has caught the attention and earned the endorsement of not only the media but also of the players and fans. We are all aware, and for the most part agree, that the team is, and has been, too soft. When fully healthy, Miami has been able to beat lower-end teams easily and, for the most part, those that are just average, aka teams that might be a wildcard team but are unlikely to make any real noise in the playoffs. Their record against the top playoff teams is horrible. The Dolphins, except for their incredible comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens in 2022, have generally been pushed around fairly easily by those teams, earning them their well-deserved label of being soft.

The Dolphins’ front office finally admitted what we have all been yelling for a long while: they need to get tougher and meaner in the trenches. Tua can be great, but he has shown that he needs to be well protected if we hope to see him on the field for a full season and through any possible playoff run. The defense, while reasonably good last season, also gets pushed around by the better offenses in the league. With those realities in mind, the front office seems to have finally started addressing the lack of bigger, nastier players that the better teams all seem to feature on their offense and defensive lines.

With all of that in mind, this evening’s Phinsider Question Of The Day is:

So, with the knowledge that the team has finally, at the very least, attempted to address the lack of being a “tougher” team or “nasty” enough in the trenches during this years draft, do you believe that the team is finally headed in the right direction, or do you think that this is a little too little a little too late in an attempt by Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel to keep their jobs beyond this season? Has your confidence in those two gone up if you were out on them? Are you still out on them and believe it’s time for a refresh in the front office and with the coaching staff? Are you a fan who has believed all along, and does this only further instill confidence that they are finally going to figure this out?
