The fiancée of University of Missouri quarterback Brady Cook sprayed champagne while celebrating with him over the weekend when he signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent.
Carli Schieferle popped the bubbly as the couple stood on a diving board together in the pool area of a backyard, as seen in a since-expired video posted on her Instagram Story.
“HEADED TO NEW YORK BABY!!! LET’S GO JETS!!” she wrote, including three green heart emojis.
At one point, Cook put his Jets hat on Schieferle’s head while their friends and family, not seen in the clip, were heard cheering in the background.
Cook and Schieferle, who have been together since high school, got engaged in Central Park in March.
Schieferle graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in 2022 before spending an extra year at Mizzou, where she was accepted into the accelerated nursing program.
They have been together since at least 2017, according to her Instagram.
Cook was the 2021 Armed Forces Bowl MVP, the 2023 Goodyear Cotton Bowl Offensive MVP and the 2024 Music City Bowl MVP.
In 46 career games with 39 starts, Cook completed 746-of-1,139 passes for 9,013 yards with 49 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He posted a career pass efficiency rating of 143.53.
He also rushed 362 times for 1,209 yards and 20 touchdowns.
The Jets did not select a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft this past weekend.
Instead, they used their No. 7 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to select Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou.
Cook and Membou played together for three seasons at Missouri.
Along with Cook, the Jets also signed Notre Dame safety Jordan Clark, the son of former NFL safety and current ESPN analyst Ryan Clark.
Cook joins a quarterback room with starter Justin Fields and backups Tyrod Taylor and Jordan Travis.
The Jets have struggled to find their quarterback of the future after a lousy two-year stint with veteran Aaron Rodgers.
The team announced they were moving on from Rodgers in February.
