With just five games left of the season now and a huge run in for Champions League qualification, it’s time for Enzo Maresca to be bold and brave.

Do I have any confidence at all that he will? Nope. But we can hope.

Tyrique George has done enough to start the next game and in fact, it’s long overdue.

I’d even start him up top and drop Nicolas Jackson, with respect to the striker. Whatever is going on in his mind, whether it’s down to how the fans have treated him or whether he is one of the players not enjoying life under Maresca, he needs to be dropped for George for our next game. There’s even a debate to drop Cole Palmer to be honest. Players should always get picked on merit. We need goals. And up to now, neither Jackson or Palmer are providing them. Palmer has certainly earned our trust to persist with him though for sure, because we know what he is capable of. But for me, George has proven that he is actually more of a threat than Jackson right now, so he should start the next game.

George’s numbers vs Legia + Fulham

Stat

Legia

Minutes played: 75

Goals scored: 1

Touches: 46

Accurate passes: 31/35

Fulham

Minutes: 12

Goals: 1

Touches: 4

Accurate passes: 2/2

Shots: 1

It’s time to step up, it’s time for brave and indifferent decisions, it’s time for Maresca to come out of his shell and make the big decisions that can make or break our season. It’s time for something different, it’s time for conviction.
