Wait, what? Cage Warriors 187 fight lasts an extra 30 seconds after nobody rings the bell | Video

Fight fans witnessed some extra action earlier tonight (Sat., April 19, 2025) at Cage Warriors 187 from inside Braehead Arena in Glasgow, Scotland, when a main card scrap between two young bantamweights went 34 seconds longer than scheduled.

The bout in question was a matchup between undefeated Greek fighter, Alexandros “Ghostbuster” Moumtzis, and Scotland’s own, Keir Harvie. As usual, the 135-pound clash was scheduled for three, five-minute rounds. It’s the standard in mixed martial arts (MMA) for any non-main event or non-title fight. There’s a rare exception when UFC books specific co-main event matchups for 25 total minutes.

This bantamweight fight between Moumtzis and Harvie was supposed to follow the same 15-minute blueprint, but something went wrong when the third round came to a close. Instead of sounding the horn to signal the end to the fight nothing happened. Moumtzis and Harvie continued to fight for about 30 seconds longer. Even the Cage Warriors broadcast team started to question when the end of the fight would come.

“Feel like we’ve been waiting for the buzzer for a little while,” said one of the announcers.

After the extra-long conclusion of the fight, Moumtzis was awarded with the three-round (and change) unanimous decision win to push his undefeated MMA record to 9-0. It may have taken an extra 30 seconds to finalize the victory, but Moumtzis can hang his head high.

You can check out the final moments of the fight in the above video player.
