Arsenal lining up move for Brentford’s Nathan Collins

Why is Jobe Bellingham going to Borussia Dortmund?

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Brentford’s defensive rock Nathan Collins, as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his backline ahead of a crucial summer transfer window.

According to TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, the Republic of Ireland international has caught the attention of the Gunners’ scouting department thanks to a string of commanding performances in the Premier League. Despite Arsenal boasting one of Europe’s most solid defences, Arteta is keen on adding depth — especially on the right side of central defence.

Defensive Reinforcements Remain a Priority

Fresh off their Champions League triumph over Real Madrid — where only a rare Saliba error blemished an otherwise elite defensive showing — Arsenal’s ambitions remain sky-high. With Jakub Kiwior proving a reliable deputy to Gabriel, the club is now targeting a more robust rotational option for William Saliba.

Enter Nathan Collins — the 6ft 4in Brentford star ranks among the Premier League’s best for blocks, clearances, and aerial duels won. His physical profile fits Arteta’s defensive blueprint to a tee.

Collins: A Smart Alternative?

While Dean Huijsen remains a top target and names like Joel Ordonez and Malick Thiaw have been floated, Collins is a proven Premier League performer. However, questions remain over whether the 22-year-old would accept a rotational role behind Saliba.

Still, if Brentford’s valuation is reasonable, Arsenal may have found themselves a reliable, long-term defensive asset. This summer could see Arteta quietly upgrade his squad’s depth — and Collins might be at the heart of it.
