Despite his knowledge of mixed martial arts, Conor McGregor has once again lost money placing money on fights—this time dropping $500k on the Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett clash.

The global star often indulges in sports betting, though his win rate isn’t quite as promising as other aspects of his life. ‘The Notorious’ has found success in fighting, business, and on the big screen, but one thing he cannot seem to master is the art of gambling.

As UFC 314 approached, fans were divided on the potential outcome of Paddy Pimblett’s meeting with Michael Chandler. Among those undecided was Conor McGregor, who eventually opted for the loser.

Now, McGregor has spoken out for the first time since losing half a million dollars on the fight.

“Chandler, you motherf***er you!” McGregor said on X. “Rest up, fair play.”

“My history with Mike and the odds on him by [knockout] swayed me to take the risk. My head did say Paddy. He’s improving but with a way to go yet.”

“Although the division is woeful, it is equal, and equal brings good fights. So, happy days, ya’s’r welcome.”

McGregor then gloated about income, dismissing the $500k as disposable money.

“Ah well, what’s $500,000 to an M G like me, can you please remind me?”

“More than your purse… I’ll get it back, I’m sure. In fact, I just did.”

Chandler you motherfooker you! Rest up, fair play. My history with Mike and the odds on him by KO swayed me to take the risk.My head did say Paddy. He’s improving but with a way to go yet. Although the division is woeful, it is equal, and equal brings good fights. So…

Emotions were high after his career-defining win over Michael Chandler, but Paddy Pimblett still had much to say about Conor McGregor.

After hearing of McGregor’s bet, ‘The Baddy’ didn’t mince his words.

“Anyone can get it, all the names I mentioned. And even McGregor, putting money on Chandler to win, lad.”

“The Irish/scouse connection, lad, he’s meant to back me, and he never. So, if he wants it, he’ll get muftied as well.”

“Yeah [it surprised me]. I didn’t think he’d go against me, to be honest. I thought he’d back me, lad, not back Chandler, but it’s one of them, isn’t it.”
