The summer transfer window is heating up — and West Ham United have officially thrown their hat in the ring for Liam Delap. The Ipswich Town striker is catching serious attention, with Manchester United also circling.

A Striker Crisis at the London Stadium

The Hammers’ pursuit of a new frontman comes as no surprise. Injuries have derailed their forward line all season. Michail Antonio remains sidelined after his car accident, and although Niclas Fullkrug returned with a goal last weekend, his injury woes make him a gamble.

Even Evan Ferguson — a January loan from Brighton — hasn’t made the impact many hoped for. The young Irishman is still goalless in claret and blue, and with Brighton reportedly asking for a hefty permanent fee, West Ham may be ready to move on.

Delap’s Breakout Year Makes Him a Hot Prospect

Liam Delap has enjoyed a strong individual campaign at Ipswich Town, despite the club’s precarious battle to avoid relegation. With 14 goal contributions and a reported £40 million release clause — potentially dropping to £30m if Ipswich go down — Delap is one of the most affordable high-upside strikers on the market.

West Ham vs Man United: Who Will Win the Race?

Manchester United are eyeing Delap as well, keen to bolster their youthful core. But West Ham can offer something enticing — guaranteed minutes and a central role in Graham Potter’s project. For Delap, the choice will be between regular football or the bright lights of Old Trafford.

One thing is certain: Liam Delap’s next move could be one of the biggest stories of the summer.
