The Cleveland Cavaliers clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference following their 135-113 win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.
It is the fourth time in franchise history they’ve gotten the top seed, and the first time since 2016.
“You know, we got out of the gate so quick,” Kenny Atkinson said. “We got ahead of it early. And then, we had some ups and downs this last month, but really proud of the guys, proud of the organization. It’s hard to win 63 games in this league. It’s hard to be the first seed. We all know that. So great accomplishment, obviously. We are hungry for more.”
Donovan Mitchell sat the game with a sprained ankle.
The Cavs are the third team in league history to have three separate 12-game win streaks during a season.
The Cavs could tie their franchise record in wins by winning their final three games of the regular season.
