Welcome, Maniacs! “This Week in MMAmania.com” is BACK.

As you know, MMAmania.com churns out a ridiculous amount of stories weekly. And if you don’t refresh this site constantly, you might just miss an amazing story. Or, if you don’t go read the comments section on each story, you might miss a wisecrack that will leave you LOL’ing.

But, don’t trip — we’ve got you covered. This weekly article will recap the best of MMAmania.com, reviewing the most-read stories, comments, social media posts, etc.

So, sit back and take a gander at the madness of the week that was …

Article of the Week

Last week, the story that attracted the most eyeballs was the death of Richard Norton, who fought everyone from Chuck Norris to Jackie Chan.

He was 75 years old.

MMAmania.com Comment(s) of the Week

Three-time Contender Series winner, Torrez Finney, delivered a dreadfully-boring debut performance, and for his reward, MMAmania.com user, Problem_Gambler, thinks he should return to the prospect show.

Or, there is this “crossover” idea …

Okay, one more zinger from our very own Cory Braiterman:

In addition to Finney’s historic stinker, UFC Vegas 105 had some truly awful fights to watch, including Loma Lookboonmee vs. Istela Nunes.

MMAmania.com user, LoneCowboy, recommended this change:

UFC Vegas 105 headliner, Josh Emmett, claimed prior to his fight that he only competed at 30 percent the last few years (details here) … and there were a couple of mathematicians in the comments:

NERD!

MMA Mania Tweet of the Week

Michel Pereira isn’t just electric inside the Octagon — he’s ridiculously strong. So strong, in fact, that he had former Middleweight roost-ruler, Sean Strickland, wanting to call United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) Drug Free Sport International (DFSI):

Nah, more like Strickland is a weak pussy jabber mouth.

#1 “Pro Fighter” that has the least amount of “fight” in him.

Guy can’t even put up a fight against his intrusive thoughts

MMA Mania Fan-Tweet of the Week

On the same Tweet, someone laid into Strickland:

Nah, more like Strickland is a weak pussy jabber mouth. #1 “Pro Fighter” that has the least amount of “fight” in him. Guy can’t even put up a fight against his intrusive thoughts.

Fighter Comment of the Week

Newly No. 1-ranked Welterweight contender, Sean Brady, clowned Colby Covington, predicting winless “Chaos” might not have a job anymore.

Time will tell.

UFC Fight Night: Sabatini v Brito

Picture of the Week

Jeff Bottari captured this picture of Joanderson Brito probably thinking, “I’m screwed” (and he was).

Unseen Knockout of the Week

Oh no, The Fighting Nerds have another killer?

UFC Fight Night: Emmett v Murphy

Random Stat of the Week

Brad Tavares holds the record for most decisions in Middleweight history, tied with Neil Magny for most decisions in UFC. And the marshmallow-throwing Hawaiian is now tied with Michael Bisping for most wins at 185 pounds after his latest decision victory over Gerald Meerschaert.

Oh, and by the way, thanks to Tavares, we got back on track as we crushed “Weekend Lock.”

Best Prediction of the Week:

I’m going outside the box this week, but MMAmania.com user, DanaWhitesDomeWax, was correct on Emmett saying he was coming into UFC Vegas 105 a new fighter after being 30 percent:

But, props to user The_Citadel for this one … I hope you bet it:

Fight Announcement of the Week:

A Lightweight car crash is coming to Montreal in June!

This Past Week in MMA History:

UFC 47: ‘It’s On!’

April 2, 2004

Nick Diaz starched Robbie Lawler in their first meeting (not their second).

And in the main event, Chuck Liddell knocked out Tito Ortiz:

UFC Fight Night: ‘Florian vs. Lauzon’

April 2, 2008

Nate Diaz submitted Kurt Pellegrino and his now infamous double bird while choking him.

UFC on Fuel TV 9: ‘Mousasi vs. Latifi’

April 6, 2013

Conor McGregor made his Octagon debut against Marcus Brimage and won via knockout.

UFC Fight Night 63, ‘Mendes vs. Lamas’

April 4, 2015

”Raging” Al Iaquinta lives up to the nickname as he curses out the crowd for booing after he won a controversial split decision against Jorge Masvidal.

See you guys next week! And be sure to peep those comments sections. Who knows, you might just be highlighted among the “Best of the Best” around these parts.
