The Los Angeles Rams were awarded a special compensatory pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, which is set for April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wis.

The Rams now have the 101st selection in the third round, to go along with the seven other draft picks that originally belonged to them.

The Rams’ newest selection was awarded via a 2020 amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement promoting equal employment opportunities and an inclusive workforce within NFL teams.

The amendment states that if one minority employee gets hired as a head coach or primary football executive by a new team, the employee’s prior team receives a special compensatory third-round pick in each of the next two drafts.

This marks the second of those two special compensatory third-round picks due to former Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris being hired as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons last year.

Meanwhile, the Rams were not awarded any regular compensatory picks for losing players in free agency due to the number of additions they made. The NFL’s formula also takes into account a player’s salary, playing time and postseason honors when awarding compensatory draft picks.

The Rams previously acquired the 202nd pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft when they traded Jonah Jackson to the Chicago Bears.
