NFL free agency 2025: Guard Teven Jenkins, who met with Seahawks, signs with Browns

The wait for the Seattle Seahawks to sign a starting caliber free agent offensive lineman continues.

Former Chicago Bears guard Teven Jenkins, who met with the Seahawks earlier this week, has opted to go not too far from the Windy City. He’s agreed to a contract with the Cleveland Browns, which is interesting in itself given their starting guards are veteran Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller (who might not be Uchenna Nwosu’s favorite guard).

Terms of the agreement are not yet known.

At 27 years old, Jenkins was one of the younger available starting interior offensive linemen on the free agent market. He was one of Chicago’s best performers when healthy, but the operative words there are “when healthy.” His extensive injury history, which included back surgery as a rookie, likely cooled his market and led to him remaining on the market past the initial wave of signings.

The only offensive lineman the Seahawks have signed in free agency is career backup Josh Jones. They expressed interest in landing top FA guard Will Fries but lost out to the Minnesota Vikings. Seattle has held meetings with former Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints starter Lucas Patrick and ex-Tennessee Titans draft pick Dillon Radunz.
