Chelsea cannot be taken seriously whilst they keep insisting with Robert Sanchez

How hideous is it being forced to watch Robert Sanchez play as Chelsea’s number one every week? He was literally signed from Brighton as their BACKUP goalkeeper, even a third choice. How mad is that? When you think back to some of the world class goalkeepers we have had at this club, then look at what we have now. Makes me sick.

Sanchez continued to show exactly what we see from him every single damn game yesterday in our defeat to Arsenal. He first tried to assist Arsenal in an early goal by passing straight to them twice. He got lucky there.

And then, just as Wayne Rooney perfectly described on Match of the Day 2 last night, Sanchez was flat-footed on their goal and could have done a lot more to get a hand to it.

The former England striker said:

“If you look at the goalkeeper he is getting too involved with the other players. And he takes a backwards step which means he can’t get the elevation to stop the ball going in the back of the net. I think if he allows himself to and gives himself a bit of space then he’s front footed and potentially might save it.”

He’s spot on.

Sanchez is forever making the wrong decisions and brain farting/panicking on the ball. Enzo Maresca told us all that Sanchez was his number one. Then a few weeks later he told us all that Filip Jorgensen is now his number one. Then a couple weeks back now he tells us all once again that Sanchez is his number one. Are you OK, mate?

Apparently Sanchez needed some time out to sort his head out and get his confidence back. Well how f*****g reassuring is that for all of us fans and Sanchez’s team mates to hear that!?? Jesus.

Sanchez is terrible. I don’t care if he makes a top save later in the game of whatever. That is his job. But he will forever make more mistakes than he will big saves, that is a fact. Even if the mistakes don’t lead to goals and we get lucky there, they will always lead to unforced pressures and that just puts us under the cosh.

Per stats website WhoScored, no player has committed more errors leading to an opposition shot than Robert Sanchez (8) in the Premier League this season. Absolute madness. Ludicrous.

How on earth anyone at Chelsea can not see this when basically every other single person in the world can is why I can not take one single person who thinks this seriously.

If the owners want us to back their project, then sign a new goalkeeper and sell Sanchez.

If Maresca wants me to fully back him as head coach, then stop picking and backing Sanchez.

He actually said he was happy with Sanchez after the game, and how he constantly lies like this in press conferences is one of the biggest reasons why I am so annoyed with the manager right now. If he wants fan backing, he is not going the right way about it.

I’ll end with this, what I posted on X last night…

Anyone at Chelsea who keeps backing/picking Sanchez and still wants us to take them seriously, you’ve got no chance. The buck stops here, anything else is secondary. Until you address the goalkeeper position, you’re on an uphill struggle.

I FULLY mean this as well. And it’s not just me who thinks like this, I’d say 95% of the fan base do.

You cannot have a calamity at the back and expect your defence to be solid. You will only ever see circus defending and ping pong ball like you saw yesterday because defenders gain confidence by who is behind them. How can any player have confidence playing ahead of Sanchez, a player who needed time off to regain his own confidence!??
