The expiration of Leroy Sane’s contract with Bayern Munich is approaching fast, and yet, there has been no tangible progress in the talks over a new deal. According to Bild, the Bavarians aren’t quite happy with the performances the 29-year-old winger has been putting in, feeling he lacks consistency and end-product.
Consequently, Bayern still haven’t put a concrete offer on the table for Sane to consider, and once they do, it will be proposed to define a salary lower than the current one. And with options to play elsewhere, it remains to be seen of the Germany international accepts reduced terms.
Arsenal have been credited with interest in Sane’s services for a while now, with manager Mikel Arteta familiar with his work from their time together at Manchester City, where the Spanish coach assisted Pep Guardiola for over three years. Signing such an experienced and potent attacker on a free transfer would surely appeal to many clubs.
