Tons of rumors will be swirling over the next 48 hours, many of which will never come to fruition. Still, that won’t stop us from going through the roller coaster of emotions that we’ve become accustomed to every offseason. Legal tampering only starts tomorrow, but the rumors have already begun for the Miami Dolphins. The first of which could be an absolute blockbuster signing, or at least, he’s got a familiar name …
According to The Athletic’s NFL Insider, Dianna Russini, the Miami Dolphins plan to be heavily interested in free agent outside linebacker Joey Bosa.
While the idea of playing with his brother Nick in San Francisco appeals to Joey Bosa, he is expected to garner strong interest from the Dolphins, per source.

Bosa, 29, was released by the Los Angeles Chargers late last week. His release saved the team $25.3 million in cap space. Immediately after his release, the media predicted he’d end up in San Francisco with the 49ers and his brother Nick Bosa. However, if the recent report is accurate, the Dolphins and General Manager Chris Grier are ready to play ball.
During his nine NFL seasons, Joey Bosa eclipsed double-digit sacks four times. He is second all-time in Chargers history with 72 career sacks. That said, the last few years have been injury riddled for Bosa who has only appeared in 28 games with the Chargers over the last three seasons. And yet, teams seem to be salivating at the opportunity to bring in a game-wrecking pass-rusher as accomplished as Bosa. And although EDGE isn’t necessarily Miami’s most significant need, it’s a position McDaniel has promised to improve each season.
Adding Bosa to a room filled with Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb and Chop Robinson would strike fear into opposing quarterbacks. Defensive Coordinator Anthony Weaver has talked about how potent Phillips, Chubb and Chop would be. Now imagine adding Bosa into the mix. It would be game-changing.
That said, the price tag for Bosa will likely be more than Miami is willing to spend. If they feel they need another game-wrecking EDGE, maybe they should look towards the draft. Furthermore, Bosa doesn’t seem like the type of locker room guy the Dolphins need to rush out to sign. Add in the recent injury history, and I really don’t think I can support the move — but I respect it.
Here’s my attempt at a jersey swap for Joey Bosa if the Dolphins were to sign him:::
