This is the UFC 313 live blog for Jalin Turner vs. Ignacio Bahamondes, the main card lightweight fight Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Turner (14-8) seeks consistency as he has repeatedly fallen short against the top names in the 155-pound division. Currently 1-3 in his past four, Turner’s three losses during that stretch came to ranked contenders Renato Moicano, Dan Hooker, and Mateusz Gamrot, the latter two by split decision. Still just 29 years old, there’s plenty of time for the talented Turner to go on a run up the lightweight ladder.
The same could be said of Bahamondes (16-5), who is of the same towering size and stature as Turner. Bahamondes has won two straight fights, with back-to-back first-round knockouts of Manuel Torres and Christos Giagos, and he enters the biggest test of his career on a 5-1 run.
