6/2/25 UPDATE: Miami Dolphins Orange Jersey Award TRACKER; QB1 reigns supreme!

The Miami Dolphins were back in action on the practice fields in Miami Gardens, Florida for the second week of voluntary organized team activities on Monday night. If you were following along last week, you saw that there were four orange jersey award winners in three practices — Ethan Bonner and Jaelan Phillips shared the honors during the first OTA practice — mostly dominated by players on the defensive side of the football.

Well, this time around, someone on the offense was donning the orange threads — and not just anyone. It was Miami’s single most important player, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa!

Tua Tagovailoa

The Dolphins go as Tagovailoa goes, as evidenced by their poor offensive showings in games the quarterback is forced to miss. Unfortunately, during the 2024 season, Miami’s QB1 missed a total of six games and the Dolphins ultimately missed the playoffs as a result.

Obviously, Dolphins players, coaches and fans hope Tagovailoa can stay healthy for the duration of the upcoming season — a feat he’s only accomplished once during his five-year NFL career (2023). If he is able to avoid injury, look for Miami to punch their ticket to the postseason for the third time in four years under head coach Mike McDaniel!

We will be tracking which players receive the orange jersey honor as the offseason progresses. Want to help? Hit us up on Twitter/X at @thephinsider, or reach out to Marek Brave directly at @MBrave13, and let us know who is rocking the jersey with pride each day! Fins up!
