The 2025 NFL Draft is three months away, but mock draft season is in full swing as only four teams remain in the hunt for the Lombardi Trophy. NFL Media’s Daniel Jeremiah released his first mock draft of the year on Saturday.
One year after projecting former LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. to the Miami Dolphins in his opening mock, Jeremiah has Miami drafting Texas junior Kelvin Banks Jr. with the No. 13 pick in April’s draft. Banks, the fourth offensive lineman off the board in Jeremiah’s projection, stands 6-foot-4, weighs 320 pounds, and started 42 games for the Longhorns.
“Nothing is more important for the Dolphins than protecting Tua Tagovailoa,” Jeremiah wrote. “Banks could do that at tackle or guard.”
In Jeremiah’s mock, the Tennessee Titans select Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter first overall, followed by wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter to the Cleveland Browns and quarterback Cam Ward to the New York Giants.
For Miami, addressing the offensive line is critical. With Terron Armstead considering retirement and Austin Jackson recovering from a torn meniscus, depth is already a concern. Adding to the challenge, Robert Jones, Liam Eichenberg, and Isiah Wynn are set to hit free agency. With limited cap space, the No. 13 pick could be the Dolphins’ best chance to immediately bolster their offensive line.
