The start of the 2025 NFL free agency period is here. The negotiating period – commonly called the “legal tampering period” – begins on Monday at 12 p.m. Eastern and continues through 3:59 p.m. on Wednesday. The new league year begins at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, opening the free agency signing period.
During the negotiating period, the league allows for a soft open to free agency, when teams are allowed to contact agents and begin negotiations for soon-to-be free agents. Contracts are not allowed to be executed during the two days. Still, there will be plenty of rumors and reports of players agreeing to deals, with the contract officially signed sometime after the start of the new league year.
Throughout the week – and into the next few months – we will continue to keep up with the latest Miami Dolphins news, updates, rumors, and signings right here.
