The Los Angeles Rams were able to rebuild their roster seemingly on the fly after nailing on several of their draft picks the past couple of years.

The Rams started with a successful 2023 NFL Draft class that featured the likes of Puka Nacua, Kobie Turner, Byron Young and Steve Avila. Los Angeles then followed it up with an equally impressing 2024 NFL Draft group headlined by Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Kamren Kinchens, Joshua Karty and Jordan Whittington.

Head coach Sean McVay, general manager Les Snead and the rest of the Rams’ scouting department have done an excellent job of identifying talent at every round of the draft and even more importantly they are exceptional at finding players who fit into the organization’s culture. The team had a smaller 2025 NFL Draft class after consolidating several of their draft picks, but the hope is this incoming group can have a similar effect as the previous ones.

The rookies have already reported to the Rams facility and were recently assigned their jersey numbers for the upcoming 2025 season, via the team’s official X account:

Tight end Terrance Ferguson will wear No. 18, outside linebacker Josiah Stewart will wear No. 41, running back Jarquez Hunter will wear No. 35, defensive lineman Ty Hamilton will wear No. 57, linebacker Chris Paul Jr. will wear No. 54 and wide receiver Konata Mumpfield will wear No. 15.

Ferguson was Los Angeles’ first pick of the draft on Day 2 after they traded back from No. 26 to No. 46. He displays the athletic traits to help uplift the passing game, something McVay has been looking for in the tight end position for years. Meanwhile, Stewart adds more pass rushing depth to a team that became known for its defensive line play.

Hunter will mix in with Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, though he might see most of his snaps on special teams. Same for Mumpfield who can be a punt returner or a developmental piece for the receiver room. Lastly, Paul could push for playing time as soon as Week 1 due to the linebacker depth, while Hamilton can fill a rotational role with Bobby Brown no longer on the roster.

Rams preferred Terrance Ferguson over Mason Taylor in 2025 NFL Draft

The Rams were one of the few teams who clearly needed a tight end, and they went with Terrance Ferguson out of Oregon. LSU’s Mason Taylor was considered the better overall prospect, but the Rams reportedly preferred Ferguson.
